We fly with Lissje to Lando Fjordt

Back in Rodiwana
Back in Rodiwana

Today I would like to introduce you to my new novel project. I will go into a bit of detail, especially for those who are not yet familiar with my Rodiwana and Lando series. In the fourth volume of the series "The Magic of Trohpa" we will travel together to the land of " Rodiwana ", which is located on the planet " Pagus ". On the jungle coast lives a young man named "Lando", who is descended from the Unlivast Nordic people and is a gill person. On the outside he looks completely normal - slim, blond, a little lanky - but he has gills on his neck and webbed feet. Despite living on land, as is usual for gill people in Rodiwana, he can also breathe underwater thanks to his gills. The novel series "Rodiwana " that preceded this series took you to Lando's ancestors, the Fjordt family from Unlivast.

About the map: "Rodiwana" took place in the north country "Unlivast" in the top right of the northeast. On the left, in the west, you can see the large crater that was caused by a meteorite impact long before Lando was born. It is responsible for the current calendar. The years are counted in "nd M." = after the meteorite impact.

Lando now lives in the year 1033 nd M. in the far east, to the right of the word "jungle" in front of the island, the "Dancing Mermaid", a supposedly cursed rock island on which many ships used to crash. The bay is called "Bay of Death" and Lando lives with his parents directly on the cliffs in Ostink. Many tourists from the metropolis of Sîlard, centrally located in Rodiwana, come here in the summer to eat the legendary large moon clams and the gigantic giant crabs of the Fjordts (as well as those of their gillless competitors, the "Broknatellas") and to go on jungle tours in the Fargombus with Ranger Albert. (Fargomobiles are powered by solar energy.)

Lando is 19 years old, he has finished school and now, as he promised his father when he was young, he has to work in the Fjordt fish trading company. However, he no longer lives with his parents, but across the street in front of the fish market in a small attic apartment that was once intended for holiday guests. From here, perched on the cliff, he can look out over the sea and the Dancing Mermaid. Here he often thinks of his best friend Ken, with whom he lived for years in the Fjordts' basement and whom he calls his "brother". Ken is now studying medicine, which Lando envies him for, and he lives in a caretaker's apartment in the boarding school.

The most important people:

KM - Gill Man

Lando - Main Protagonist-KM

William - Lando's father, fishmonger-KM

Nora - Lando's mother from South Varan

Ken - Lando's best friend, studying medicine

Brandon Montiga - a former school friend, heartthrob, waiter at the "Aureus"

Paola Rockwen - a former school friend, she has a crush on Lando

Aponi Magena- a Trohpa that Lando met in the jungle

Hartwig - the "one-eyed" cliff guard with a pirate past - KM

Tyron - the strongest of all clam divers, Lando's friend - KM

Jimmy - Tyron and Lando's friend, a lovable weirdo and chatterbox - KM

Lissje - the chronicler from the future (descendant), first-person narrator

The fearful "fish" has become a young man

Well, in this volume, which I am writing here and will upload chapter by chapter on Fridays (since the chapters are quite long, it can sometimes be a third or half of a chapter), Lando has already become a young man. We are in the 4th volume of the series "The Magic of Trohpa" . Since all volumes are self-contained, this novel can also be read separately without any problem. If you would like to see the other volumes, please click here .

Lando hates fish and the jungle has a magical attraction for him.

In contrast to his father, who praises gill people to the skies and thinks that fishermen are the best people in Rodiwana, Lando is not very good at fishing and has not had a good relationship with the sea since he was a child. On the contrary, he is afraid of it and of all the wild creatures, the poisonous fish and blood shadow fish. He is interested in the plants, the jungle and above all the magical Trohpa, the natives, who his father thinks are sinister demons who only want to rob him of his mind with their bewitched moon nuts. The natives of the Eye Clan are said to be particularly bad, as they have a third eye in their foreheads with which they can steal your soul. Lando, as a 19-year-old, might have laughed at such speculation if he had not met a Trohpa wearing a headband (in the last volume, "Lando Between the Worlds"). Was she a "magical" one? A Trohpa from the Eye Clan who wants to put a spell on him? He doesn't know, he only knows that he will finally see her again after the long moon festival with the crazy Rockwens. The novel begins with a long internal monologue from Lando.

By the way, I already have this novel and all the subsequent volumes as a basic text in my computer, as the entire saga has been written and is being written since 2013. Before I upload the texts here, I edit them and then they go into the book, which I will then publish like "Watanabe".

Oh, I almost forgot the plot! Lissje will be horrified! She is the only first-person narrator, sitting on a space station in the future and writing the chronicle, the family history of her ancestors, which included the Fjordts from Unlivast and of course Lando. Her goal is to travel into the past as a ghost (she can use a certain technique that she has to keep secret from others, and certain "Oros anamgos", magical objects). And she will also travel to Lando now and again to find out more about the magic of the Trohpa (which is also the name of the novel series).

And there is one last person missing: Isobald Eismann . This long-dead Nordic poet and thinker appears throughout the saga in the form of poems or longer quotes, diary entries that fit the theme and mood. The "Goethe of the Northland" lived in Unlivast and you get to know him in the first Rodiwana volumes. This novel also begins with an Isobald Eismann introduction. So, now we can really get started, right...?

No: One more note: Unlike the Rodiwana series, which contains an incredible number of drawings, I have not illustrated this series, although I have made a number of Lando drawings. At the moment I would like to publish the texts that have been waiting for years, because Lando really wants to get out now! :-) There are beautiful licensed decorative elements for this!

Bente Amlandt wishes you lots of fun with Lando on the jungle coast!
