Sometimes
The world misunderstands you
Sometimes the world isn't the world
Sometimes you're not you
Sometimes the world isn't you
and sometimes you are so much you
and the world is far too much world
If you're like that sometimes
so between the world and you
then something remains
an intersection here
a nasty facial expression
or a smile
there is a concern
or a hope
and then you go to bed
Tomorrow is a new day
No new world
but a new day
no new you or me
But there is a smile.
that makes the day shine
because the shadow of sometimes
He's only good at...
Once upon a time
He endures for the sometimes
for the world, for the dark days,
for the dark
But if you pay close attention
seek the sun
and feel the light
then he is nothing but a
Sometimes
and you are
to make your smile
to hold and carry it
over all shadows
to be in the sun
thankful
more than sometimes
